Reading, markup, and visual paper

Today we will start the 2nd half of our unit on Africa.  We will talk a bit first and then you will choose a chapter from Curtis Keim’s book, Mistaking Africa (1999), where he digs in to what the stereotypes are and why we have them.  Both of these chapters are really interesting, so take a look at each and decide which one you want to read and mark.

Highlight the text for ideas that you think are important.  Marking your reading is important as it allows you to go back later and have quick access to ideas that you thought were significant.

When you finish, you can get started on the visual one-pager for the assignment.  It is linked in the assignment below.
