Week 3 discussion | health psychology

This week is a “Blended Topic” though they are definitely connected. We have discussed unhealthy habits, now let us discuss healthy habits. In so doing, we will also talk about some of those strategies for managing the symptoms of stress. Things like regular exercise, improved diet, time management – they are both healthier and can decrease ambient daily stress responses. Refer to Ch 7 in attached book.

Week 7 discusion jgr 200 | JGR 200 – The Power of People | Strayer University

Hiring people with complementary skills and styles can lead to a more  effective team. When you’re picking out the members of your team, you  will need to apply what you have learned about them (from your research  and the evaluations) to the selection process. This week, you learn how  to balance your team so you have complementary skills and styles. Think  about what you have learned this week regarding balance. Why is it  important to make sure you have a balanced team? What can happen if you  have too many people with the same strengths or weaknesses?

Four parts | Education homework help

PART ONE:

The attached includes 10 questions from the content material you have covered in Chapters 3 and 5 (weeks 3 and 4).  Research each of these questions in your textbook and online as instructed in each question.  Also, give examples as you are prompted in each question.   There is no word count for this project. Before submitting this assignment, read it over to yourself to check for grammar, sentence structure, and completeness.  A word to the wise, this is a two-week project and in-depth answers are expected.  Use your time wisely to show your insights into each question after carefully reviewing the reference materials.

(NO WORD COUNT)

PART TWO:

Find an operations-based company you are familiar with and research it’s use of suppliers.  First, take a look at what companies have already been reported on and try not to duplicate what someone else has analyzed.  Then research whether your chosen company makes any of it’s own products, or does it outsource all or most of it’s components and finished products.  Where does it source, internationally or domestically?  See if you can get a macro-picture to report to the class regarding this company’s products and how it uses a supply chain to source components and/or finished products.  Product manufacturing companies you are familiar with are a good place to start, however, it’s also interesting to find a company that maybe no one has heard much about.  Once you have found a company you are interested in reporting on for this Discussion, begin by describing this company’s products and then their supply chain network.  Finally, see if you can identify the primary risks this company has with it’s sourcing.

PART THREE:

During the Great Recession, like any other economic downturns, as unemployment rises, aggregate income declines causing a major decline in tax collections. On the other hand, with the rise in unemployment, spending on safety net programs rise. So, there are not too many good options available to resort the health of the national economy. It will be very difficult to defend cuts in the federal government programs and especially the programs geared to sustain the minimum of the standard of living for the recent “poor.” So, government needs to increase its borrowing. Deficit spending refers to government spending exceeding what it brings in federal income and corporate taxes during a certain period. Deficit spending hence increases government debt. Most economists accept that deficit spending is desirable and necessary as part of countercyclical fiscal policy. In such a case, government increases its borrowing and hence its deficit to compensate for the shortfall in aggregate demand. This is derived from Keynesian economics, and has been the mainstream economics view. Following John Maynard Keynes, many economists recommend deficit spending to moderate or end a recession, especially a severe one. When the economy has high unemployment, an increase in government purchases creates a market for business output, creating income and encouraging increases in consumer spending, which creates further increases in the demand for business output. (This is the multiplier effect). This raises the real gross domestic product (GDP) and the level of employment and lowers the unemployment rate. Government borrowing under such circumstances increases the demand for borrowing and thus pushes interest rates up. Rising interest rates can “crowd out” (discourage) fixed private investment spending, canceling out some of the demand stimulus arising from the deficit

Write and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of deficit spending and the effects of federal government borrowing on the economy i.e., the “crowding out” effect.

Complete this in a Microsoft Word document, and in APA format. Note your submission will automatically be submitted through “TurnItIn” for plagiarism review.

should be structured as follows

1. Cover with a running head

2. Introduction: What is deficit spending and how does it work.

2.1. Advantages

2.2. Disadvantages

3. Crowding-out Effect

4. Conclusions: Do you believe that deficit spending helps or hinders short-term and long-term economic growth?

5. References

PART FOUR:

Classical economists belief that prices and quantities adjust to the changes in the forces of supply and demand and that the economy produces its potential output in the long run.  On the contrary, Keynesian economists believe because of price and wage rigidities the economy’s equilibrium output in the long run may be less than its potential output.  What is price-wage rigidity?  Do you agree with Keynes assessment that wage-price rigidity requires government’s involvement in the markets?  Why?  Why not?

Week 3 discussion 410 | HIM 410 Health Informatics – A Systems Perspective | Ashford University

Health care data comes in many different forms. The data is collected, organized, and analyzed to improve patient outcomes and health care processes. Data mining is a technique that researchers use to look for hidden patterns and relationships in large amounts of data. In this discussion you will evaluate a large data set complied by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (Links to an external site.). This data set contains breeches of protected health information affecting 500 or more individuals. Use the data set to address the following:

  • How many records are in this file?
  • What is the name of the covered entity in your State that had the highest number of individuals affected (be sure to identify your state and the name of the institution)?
  • What type of breach occurred?
  • Describe the type of violation.
  • How could this violation have been avoided?
  • How would you apply the data mining methods of clustering and association rule mining to this file?

Homework help | HCI300 Introduction to Health Informatics | Colorado Technical University

This week, you will begin by conducting research on two (2) health care administration positions you are interested in and answer the following questions using Careeronestop.org. Careeronestop.org is a site created by the U.S. Department of Labor that will allow you to dig deeper into a variety of health care positions. For more information about searching for positions, view the tutorial below.

  • Give a description of the job and typical job duties.
  • What type of health care setting would this person work in (e.g., hospital, retirement home, insurance company)?
  • What skills are needed to be successful in this position?
  • What qualities are needed to succeed in this position?
  • What certifications and education are needed for this position?
  • What technology knowledge is needed for this position?
  • How many years’ experience is required for this position?
  • What is the typical salary for this position?

Part 2

To answer the questions below, you will need to first review three (3) advertised job descriptions you most likely want based on your research—using a job board, such as this one—for a position that you could realistically get after you graduate with your current level of experience, skills, and education. These jobs do not have to be in your geographic area, but make sure the descriptions are detailed enough to understand the requirements (e.g., provide job duties and qualifications) and that they match your current level of experience. Have these job descriptions in front of you as you answer the questions below. For more information about searching for jobs, view the tutorial below.

  • Name the three (3) titles you found on this Web site.
  • What skills do you possess that are needed to be successful in each position, and what skills do you need to develop?
  • How can you develop the skills that you do not currently possess?
  • Do you have the work experience needed for each position? If not, what can you do to gain this experience while obtaining your degree?

Part 3

Lastly, you will choose a health care organization to study over the course of the term. You may select any health care facility you wish (e.g., long-term care, hospital, home care, ambulatory surgery, physician practice, etc.). Once you have chosen your facility, examine its organizational structure. Identify and discuss the following characteristics of your organization:

  • What is the mission statement of this organization?
  • What patient population does this organization serve?
  • What interests you about this particular organization?
  • What skills and experience do you feel you can contribute to the success of this organization?

Note: Use APA style to cite at least 2 scholarly sources.
